Friday Khutbah (Sermons) : Salaah

The Transcript:

My Dear Brothers and sisters in Islam, when the Beloved Prophet of Allah Ibrahim ‘Alayhis Salaam was building the Kaaba, the very first house of worship built on this earth, the very first house that would become the holiest place on this earth, He made a Du’a, in the middle of the desert, ONLY him and his son Ismail ‘Alayhis Salaam building the Kaaba brick-by-brick understanding that this house that they are building shall become the sanctuary, a holy place for all Believers, building the house of Allah, What Du’a did they make? Imagine their feeling, imagine what they were undergoing carrying out this task that Allah had commanded them to do.

What was this Du’a? It is recorded in the Quran and one phrase in this Du’a is so important that every single Muslim needs to know it and learn about it. While they are building the Kaaba, him and his son Ismail, he says:

Ibrahim ‘Alayhis Salaam says:

“O my Rabb make ME amongst those who establish the Salaah, me and my children, make us amongst those who establish the Salaah .” (Surah Ibrahim 14:40)

The Excellence of Supplicating Du’as in one’s Absence

"And there are men who say: "Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!"" (Surah Al Baqarah 2:201)

Allah, the Exalted, says:

“And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancour (or sense of injury) against those who have believed. Our Lord! Thou art indeed Full of Kindness, Most Merciful.”" (Surah Al Hashr 59:10)

“Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes”. (Surah Muhammad 47:19)

“O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness – me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!” (Surah Ibrahim 14:41)

Abu Dharr reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: “There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: ‘The same be for you too.’” (Sahih Muslim, Book #035, Hadith #6588)

Commentary: This Hadith makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, “O Allah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others.”

Ways For Gaining Rewards

There are many ways to gain reward from Allah and in this book there are some examples like: The Holy Qur’an, Remembering Allah, Ablution, Prayer and Fasting.

1. Memorizing Qur’an: Aisha reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Such a person who recites the Quran and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person exerts himself to learn the Quran by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.”

2. Reciting Qur’an: Abu Umama reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It.”

3. Learning and Teaching Qur’an: Uthman bin Affan reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”

নবী (সাঃ) যেভাবে পবিত্রতা অর্জন করতেন

সংক্ষিপ্ত বর্ণনাঃ আভিধানিক অর্থে পবিত্রতা বলতে দৃশ্যাদৃশ্য ময়লা আবর্জনা থেকে পরিষ্কার ও পরিচ্ছন্ন হওয়াকে বুঝানো হয়। শরীয়তের পরিভাষায় পবিত্রতা বলতে যে কোন ভাবে দৃশ্যমান ময়লাবর্জনা সাফাই এবং মাটি বা পানি কর্তৃক বিধানগত অপবিত্রতা থেকে নিস্কৃতি পাওয়াকে বুঝানো হয়। মূলকথা, শরীয়তের পরিভাষায় পবিত্রতা বলতে সাধারণত নামায, কোরআন তিলাওয়াত ইত্যাদি ইবাদতকর্ম সম্পাদনে প্রতিবন্ধক অপবিত্রতা থেকে নিস্কৃতি পাওয়াকে বুঝানো হয়।
